Privacy Policy
What Cirious does and doesn't collect about you. Last updated October 20, 2026.
Overview
Cirious is an unofficial fan site run by a single developer. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to information when you visit. Because the site has no user accounts and no way to submit personal details, there is very little to collect, and this policy is short for that reason.
What I Collect
I do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details, and I do not run a login system.
Like most websites, the servers that deliver Cirious may automatically record basic technical details when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. This is standard for keeping a site running and secure, and I don't use it to identify or profile individual visitors.
Saved on Your Device
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember things like:
- Whether the sidebar is collapsed
- Your chosen language and previously translated text
- Data used by the site's tools
This stays in your browser and is not sent to me. You can clear it any time from your browser's site settings.
Translation
If you pick a language other than English, the text of the page you're viewing is sent to a translation service so it can be shown in your language. That text is the site's own content, not information about you. Your language choice is remembered on your device so you don't have to pick it again.
Third-Party Services and Links
To load properly, pages fetch some resources from outside providers, such as fonts, icons and styling from content delivery networks like Google Fonts and Cloudflare (cdnjs). As with any web request, these providers can see your IP address and browser details, and they handle that under their own policies.
Links to other sites, such as Discord, lead to services I don't control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Cookies, Analytics and Ads
Cirious does not use cookies for accounts, tracking or advertising, and it does not currently show ads or run analytics tools that follow individual visitors.
Third-party services mentioned above may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will keep working. If ads or analytics are ever added, this page will be updated first.
Children's Privacy
Cirious is not directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child's information has ended up with the site, contact me and I'll look into it.
Your Choices
Since I don't keep personal profiles or accounts, there's usually nothing to access, correct or delete on my side. What you can do is:
- Clear the site's saved data from your browser
- Block cookies or use a privacy-focused browser
- Contact me if you think I hold information about you and want it reviewed or removed
Data Security
I take reasonable steps to keep the site secure. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, though, so I can't promise absolute protection.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy as the site changes. The date near the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new version.
